IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT TO LEARNING TO FLY?

Anyone can start learning to fly at any age, however, to be eligible to fly the aircraft solo you need to be at least 15 years old. Younger students need to be old enough to reach the rudder pedals and more senior students (over the age of 75) will need a doctor’s medical stating they are fit enough to operate a vehicle.

WHAT IS THE WEIGHT LIMIT?

The RAAus weight limit to go solo is 110kgs.

DO I NEED TO PAY ALL THE COSTS UPFRONT?

No, Adventure Flight Training provides multiple options for payment.

Pay-as-you-go allows you to pay for the hours you fly.

ARE THE PILOTS AND AIRCRAFT INSURED?

Absolutely. Adventure Flight Training is comprehensively insured through QBE. Public liability insurance exists through RAAus memberships.

HOW SAFE IS RECREATIONAL FLYING?

Flying is one of the safest modes of transport, and flying a light sports aircraft is one of the most exciting and fun!

At Adventure Flight Training, our number one priority is making sure we create safe, capable, and competent pilots. All of our Instructors and school sites are subject to rigorous testing and inspection under RAAus, to ensure the highest standard of safety, and our aircraft are scrupulously maintained and inspected to make sure you are safe as a passenger and a student.

DO I NEED TO SIGN ANYTHING BEFORE MY FIRST LESSON?

Yes! You will need to read and sign our Waiver and Terms and Conditions prior to arriving at your first session.
